3rd Cyprus Penetration Testing Competition

by gmichael

For the third consecutive year, UCLan Cyprus and the University of Cyprus co-organize ‘Pentest Cyprus 2017’, the largest event of the island in the field of Information Security. The event is under the auspices of the Commissioner of Electronic Communications and Postal Regulation, Mr. George Michaelides.

This year, the event will take place on Sunday 8th October at the premises of UCLan Cyprus University in Larnaca and will include interesting training sessions as well as a CTF competition. The event aims to cover various aspects of the field of Information Security, which is why the organizers are urging those involved in this field to attend and share their knowledge with others.

Regarding the training sessions, this year the organizers intend to divide them into two categories. The first section will be educational in practical applications and the other one more enlightening on other aspects of information security.

It must be noted that the CTF competition this year, will be held on an individual level and all participants will have to carry their own laptops. The competition will include exercises from various parts of information security such as web, crypto, stego, reverse engineering and exploits.

This event is a great opportunity to bring together all those involved in the field of Information Security, promote awareness and to highlight the young talented scientists of our island.
