Dear EN members and friends,
IEEE Cyprus Entrepreneurs Network (EN) was established in January 2013 and is a voluntary effort that aims to trigger entrepreneurship in Cyprus and help people interested in it to get networked and find valuable team members in order to create technological start-ups.
More specifically it intends to bring together IEEE members and other professionals (non-members who are working or who are educated in an IEEE designated field – which are all fields of Engineering, Computer Sciences and Information Technology, Physical Sciences, Biological and Medical Sciences, Mathematics, Technical Communications, Education, Management, Law and Policy) in order to cooperate with electrical or electronic engineers in Cyprus and abroad, so that they come up with an innovative product or service that can be exploited commercially.
Every January the elections for EN’s Executive Committee (EXCOM) take place. The composition of EN’s EXCOM is the following: Chair, Vice Chairperson, Secretary and Program Director. Any additional EN volunteers will have the opportunity to take part in the EXCOM’s meetings and help as much actively as they wish in order to meet EN’s goals and to implement the organisation of our events and initiatives. You can refer in this link: http://linkd.in/1nHUUlx to see in detail EN’s goals and objectives.
Therefore, I would like to announce the annual elections for EN’s Executive Committee (EXCOM). You can send an e-mail at cyprusen@ieee.org with your declarations of interest for the elections together with a .pdf form of your CV by January 29, 2016.
In order for EN’s goals and activities to be fulfilled there need to be several volunteers who contribute in our efforts.
Some of the responsibilities that an EXCOM member / volunteer in EN might undertake are the following:
• Creating and editing videos of events or promotional videos,
• Updating EN’s websites with content relevant to the interests of its members,
• Promoting EN through Social Media,
• Finding suitable programmes that are announced in IEEE’s website that could be implemented by EN,
• Attending EN’s meetings, taking photos, capturing video.
Please note that only IEEE members with renewed membership state (either student or professional) for 2016 will be eligible to participate in the EXCOM’s elections, thus I need you to send together with your CV also your membership renewal to IEEE.

I would like to remind you here about the EN membership, which has a cost of €10 per year. With this membership IEEE Cyprus EN members enjoy the benefit of joining a national IEEE entrepreneurs’ network. This network provides its members with the opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs / future entrepreneurs on a national level. In addition, members have access to information on entrepreneur members’ goals, pursuits, activities and contact details. Finally, they benefit from discounts or free entrance / participation to IEEE Cyprus EN events. For more information on how to become an IEEE Cyprus EN member please contact us at: cyprusen@ieee.org.
The rest of professionals who want to participate in EN’s newsletter and receive notifications about EN’s events can also send us an e-mail at: cyprusen@ieee.org.
Please, keep in mind that the deadline for declarations of candidacy for EN EXCOM is 12 pm on January 29, 2016.
Yours sincerely,
Anastasia Georgouli
